Funding search checklist

1. Complete the FAFSA as early as possible.
2. Ask your school financial-aid office about Pell, FSEOG, work-study, institutional aid, and emergency funds.
3. Check tribal higher-education or education-department funding if applicable.
4. Review Native student scholarship programs and Montana aid programs.
5. Write every deadline in one place.
6. Keep copies of your enrollment verification, transcript, Tribal documentation if required, essays, references, and award notices.
7. Follow up after submitting. Do not assume an application is complete until the program confirms it.
